Trees - the lungs of the Earth
Planting trees is one of the easiest and most powerful ways to combat climate change, and each fall the Climate Change Coalition of Door County (CCC) will help Door County do its part. In September, the CCC will distribute nearly 900 trees through local schools, environmental organizations, churches, youth programs and local businesses.
The trees are native conifers, including white cedar, black spruce, red pine, balsam fir and white pine.
Beginning on September 28th**, the public IS welcome to pick up a tree To PLANT!
Public pick up at the following locations:
Door County Land Trust Office, 23 N. 5th Ave, Sturgeon Bay
Greens N Grains, 7821 WI-42, Egg Harbor
The Ridges, 8166 WI-57, Baileys Harbor
Note:Trees will also be available during CCC’s Drive In Movie Night event on Friday, September 25th at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay. Click HERE for more info.
