Composting is a great way to reduce landfill waste and, for gardeners, to produce their own organic material for soil improvement. And making it is not at all difficult. In this class, Mike will cover the basics of home composting, from which materials to compost, which materials to avoid composting, compost pile management, the various kinds of compost bins and structures, and how to use finished compost. For those who do not garden but would still like to divert their compostable kitchen scraps from the landfill, Jeff will provide information on how to do this through the Climate Change Coalition of Door County’s compost program, along with other information about the coalition’s work regarding composting.
